My wife is scheduled for surgery tommorrow AM (I wont go into details on why) and I'm a little nervous today as I try to get some work done. I've brought the boys along with me today and they are doing what they can to lift my spirits with an outstanding Jack Straw>Deal. I will probably be incommunicado for the next couple of days but hope that you all can send out what energy you can. I will say that what my boys in Fenway did over the weekend to the hated Pinstripers was a welcome prescription (even better than more cowbell) If you can keep it happy today, I'll stay off my soapbox...I promise.

Thanks for the kind words.

And I also expected such a response to the weekend's resutlts. The rest of the world can say what they want, but true Yankees and Red Sox fans will be the first to acknowledge respect for the other team, even if they do it through gritted teeth. This coming weekend should be quite good, your boys will be amped up to even the score (and the fans will be going ape-shit, I'm sure).

Any time Bro, the bottom line is no matter who wins are lives are still the same. We still have to go to work and pay our bills. Nothing changes for us.

All 3 games were typical SOX-YANKEES Games. We had our chances and we blew it!!! Plain and simple. Looking forward to the Bronx this week end. I will post the show Tommorrow and a reminder on Friday. Good Luck man and keep us posted on Mrs Hollow!!!

If it's just for an IE URL, right click on the address in the explorer bar, select "copy" and then go to the new post box and hit Control + V to paste the URL. Then just "Submit Post".

A little story which might amuse you.

Obviously, I'm a New Yawker. Grew up on Yogi, Mickey, Whitey--Roger Maris' fluke 61.

Anyway, I hadn't been back to the city since around 1999, and I hadn't been to the stadium in ten or more years. So, two years ago, I got a pair of nosebleeders and flew up to meet an old friend from Baaaaston. Here we are, catching up, hoping for a great contest, some back and forth, some excitement, some beer, some kicks. Jason Giambi solos in the bottom of the first, and that's the whole ballgame.

At least we had plenty of time to talk! BTW--and this tells you how observant a pig can be--I did not even realize that the game was taking place on 9-11! What a pre-game to do it was. I felt like I was a New Yorker again for the first time in many, many years.

Two tickets to the game: $90.00. Hot dogs: $20 Beers:$40.

The outcome: worthless--but the moment: priceless. For everything else there's VISA.

By all means! A strong-minded man as you are could only be partnered with a woman equally strong, and we're all certain she will pull through with a quick recovery to follow.

Got it from the top, it's nothing you can stop,
Lord, you know they made a fine connection . . .
He could pass his time, around some other line
But you know he choose this place beside her.

They love each other, Lord you can see that it's true

Hey SDH

I am a little late on this thread but as someone whose been there. You just being by her side and being the man she loved enough to marry is going to help her through it.

They say there are no atheists in foxholes well I don't think there are many in operating rooms either.

SDH... waiting for someone you love dearly to come out of surgery is extremely hard to get thru, as I have gone thru this with my daughter. Have your tunes ready to help keep you occupied and calm, and remember there are many of us out here who care very much. My thoughts and prayers are with you both for strength and only the best of outcomes.

Hugs!! :)

Didn't really expect the responses posted here. I guess you guys don't suck so bad afterall. Your words and wishes have been heard and felt. I will happily pass on all to my wife, who may finally believe that we are not all a bunch of backwards looking, hygenically challenged, self-centered, mono-focused clones. I mean, really, some of us bathe.
Thanks again, you guys rock.

Sir, my ass is in no way "sorry", it is indeed very happy with it's scrawniness, as I am sure yours is with its own extensive bulk.

Truth be told, the extent of my ass's bulk does not remotely approach the extensive bulk of my own proclivity toward being an ass.

Seriously, though, you can rest assured that tomorrow we'll all be thinking well and supportively of her and of you, too.

Speak for yourself. I'm a backwards looking, hygenically challenged, self-centered, mono-focused clones. Except, sir, that I spell it "hygienically," and then I don't get no annoying red underline.

SDH:

What they said. Surgery is always scary, but ever since they moved on from using hacksaws, things have improved greatly.
I feel certain that with you by her side, things will be fine.

I will even leave this Botox--Hankey rivalry alone.

Good enough to say GOP, around 35yrs back, a good friend of mine was in a bad motercycle accident, it messed up both of his legs, but his left les was mangled the worst-VERY bad! Long story short, he was rushed to surgery at the VA Hospital and the F'n doctor was to amputate his leg from the knee down, he amputated the wrong leg(!). He sued the VA and the federal Judge threw the case out-unbelievable! Good thing the medical community and court system has vastly improved.

Best of luck; I know that without the support of my wife I would not be here writing this now, and sadly, that is not just a cliche. It is so critical to have the support of family and friends, and even the best friends you've never met, to see you through.

Box of Rain is an excellent bit of wisdom in times of this sort.

SDH ... hope the surgery goes smoothly for your wife, sorry to hear, but you and she will be in my thoughts; and while, yes, the Yanks could only have left Fenway in shame after a weekend of humiliating moments, if it brings some positive vibe to you and your wife's current situation, i'll take it every time; drop in when calm again returns ... peace, T.

My thoughts go out to your wife and family. Be strong for her. Soon you will be with her walking in the sunshine.

Sunshine daydream
Walk you the tall trees
Going where the wind goes
Blooming like a red rose
Breathing more freely
Light out singing
I'll walk you in the morning sunshine
Sunshine daydream
Walk you in the sunshine
